The
Parish Council has eleven members (listing
below). Meetings take place on the third
Tuesday of the month, 7.30 p.m. at the
Village Hall, Memorial Playing Field,
Station Road, Chartham.
The Annual Parish Assembly is usually held in April or May.
Elections
for Parish Councillors take place every
four years. The Chairman and Vice-Chairman
are elected annually in May from serving
Councillors.
The
Council owns and maintains the Cemetery
grounds, The Chapel and the Cemetery
Lodge on the Ashford Road, Chartham.
A Cemetery Superintendent, who resides
at the Lodge is employed by the Council.
Please note that this is on a part-time basis.
Also
employed by the Council are a part-time
Clerk to the Council and a part time
cleaner who is employed to look after
the toilets on the Memorial Playing Field.
A
bottle bank has been installed in Parish
Road.
About
twice a year the Parish Council provides
skips for the convenience of residents
to dispose of bulky items.
